Hi all, just moved to SW FL and unfortunately I couldn't bring my older Weber grill with me ( side control 3 burner). I was looking for a used one to recondition and believe I have a candidate for 50.00
It's going to be a few days until I can go see it since the owner is away for the next few days but I have high hopes.
Nice to meet you all and I'm looking forward to grilling again

Welcome George,

Looks like a decent Genesis 1000, 13 bar deep cookbox. Good restoration candidate.

The slide out bottom pan is no longer available so that can be an issue. It looks like its covered in foil. I'd check that to see if it is rusted out.

The left side cross member is another area that can rust. Bruce has a great video showing how to repair that should it be needed.

The rest of the parts are readily available so if/when you get it home share more and if you need some guidance I'm sure you'll get plenty.

Here is a great starting point, pinned to the top of the gas grills forum

It does look like the pan is covered in foil. I'll have to see it in person to know for sure how bad the pan is. Thanks!

There have been a number of threads on the bottom pan. I haven't stayed current on the options, but I think there are some options to repair and maybe even an aftermarket stainless adjustable pan.

If the tray will hold it self up in the slider its probably not a lost cause.

Good news!

The bottom pan looks great. Excellent starting point. A little cleanup, some paint on the outside of the end caps and cookbox will take 20 years off how old that grill looks.

How does the inside look?

I'm optimistic! The burner screws came right out and I'm almost done disassembling the whole grill frame and all.
