Hello from Oklahoma; brand new to smoking

Hello everybody I'm Daniel. I just bought a 14.5" WSM in early May as my first smoker. With all the rain we received in May here I only had a chance to start breaking it in and just finished up my second real smoke tonight. I'm really looking forward to using it a lot more and to use these forums as a good resource.
 
Welcome Daniel! That 14.5 WSM is a nice one to learn with. It's my favorite size, and travels well too.

So far I'm really liking the size too. I had been wanting a WSM for awhile and took nearly that long to decide between the 14.5 and 18.5. In the end I figured to go with the smaller one to try out since we rarely cook for large groups.

The first cook was Beef Short Rubs. Meat was great; was told it had a bit too much rub on them. Second cook was a 2.5 pound brisket, some packaged hot links, corn in the husks, and a can of beans. It all turned out good and learned some valuable things along the way to do differently next time.

I haven't been taking as many photos as I should. I'll have to remember to take more in the future.
