Hello from N VA. My name is Mark and I own a 2005 Weber Summit Gold d6. Replaced the burners and cabinet about 5 Years ago and this week I decided to replace the burners again as the crossovers were shot. When I removed the front I found major rot in the front of cook box. I was ready to throw in the towel. Then I came across your group. Read a few posts to learn all is not lost. Shot an email off to Weber and they got back to me in the wee hours of the morning. Rep did not understand what I was asking for. No help. So this morning I phoned Weber and spoke with Gennesy who is an New Yorker (from Bronx) based in Fla. Can do attitude and a Real pleasure to work with. She is processing a replacement cook-box for me. Under warranty. So this week I’ll be giving the cabinet a light sanding to get rid of some surface rust in the bottom of the cabinet. Then a coat of rust oleum on the bare metal. Can’t wait for the new parts from Weber to arrive. I did cheap out on the burners this time and went aftermarket on Amazon. $28 for 3 sets of 20.5” burners 6.25” crossbars. If I had known I was getting a free box..... Anyway, Appreciate you all being here.
