Guru Experience

I bought a Guru Nano-Q II several years ago. In past years, I've had false readings and error messages to the extent I quit cooking for a while. I bought a new probe and still had error messages. I then set up a test of the unit using the broiler of our electric oven. It performed well. Last Friday night, I took care to suspend the probe in the cook chamber by rigging a strand of heavy gage military safety wire around the handle of the top grill. I clipped the probe to it thereby suspending the probe in air and isolating it from contact with hot grill or other surfaces in the top chamber. It performed like a champ. I'm convinced that probe placement and care is everything for these units. The probe is the nervous system. I also make doubly sure the probe, blower, and power connections are snug in the "brain" unit. I'm now motivated to cook knowing my temp control is reliable again.
