Grommet

Anyone add the grey silicone grommet to there kettle for fishing probes through? Does it take the high heat for grilling steaks? 600+ degrees. Worried it will just melt. Thoughts? Thanks

Silicone will crumble before melting, but I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. Just bank/basket your charcoal on the opposite side of the grill when you’re doing high heat.

What EricV said ^ I have a similar grommet to that on my WSM which takes a much smaller hole than the Weber silicone grommet.
