Grillin and chillin


 
Nice. Did you fully loosen the meat in there prior to grilling? My late friend who was an executive chef taught me to pull the meat out then lay it on top the shells, similar to your pic. In any case a great way to enjoy them
 
I stuck a butter knife in the tails and worked it around before I split the tails.
The cut only goes down to the tail and not completely through the meat and then just folded them as shown.
This allows the butter not to spill.
I never even had to bast them and the meat easily popped out of the shell.
The tooth picks did not do much if anything at all.

I don't put butter on them to cook. I use a little smoked paprika and some Old Bay along with a drizzle of olive oil. I save the butter to dunk them :D
