Going to buy an new gasser??

My wife wants to buy me a new gasser to replace my Weber 1000. It needs to be rebuilt and I even told her just buy the parts and save some money. She said no buy something new. She should know me well enough that I will rebuild it anyway for an extra grill but its her money.

Anyway, I went buy a dealer and picked up a 2010 Weber catalog. Noticed they dropped the Genesis series. Seems now you either get the E with PCI grates and bars or S series with SS.

Should I try and find a 2009 EP or just go with the E series and PCI and replace later on?

Since I haven't been looking at the new ones I am not sure but I think the SS is Stainless Rods. If so these are reputed to be really good.

I am like you and almost would rather have a rebuilt one. I have a spring project this year to refurbish an old Platinum Series II, which I got on CL last year for my boys. Seems like they won't use it so I said give it back. When it comes it gets stripped to the frame and every thing repainted or replaced.

BTW Last week here in austin CL had a 4 burner Summit with side burner for 125. That lasted only a a few hours then it was gone.

Get the SS Bar version I think you will be happy
