One of the most important places in the study of Kabbalah. A city that was besieged 25 times in its history. And a city so rich in history.

The steps to the old Jewish section. The Spanish Inquisition destroyed the Jewish community here and across Spain.

Another access way to the old Jewish community. You can see the iron hook built into the stone wall. There were gates here to keep those out who were trying to kill the Jews of Gerona at some point in time.

A deeper look into the walkway.

Scenic shot of the old town. So much European flavor here. Girona is a beautiful old city.

Brett, your pictures and your history lessons are just breathtaking. Thank you soo much for all of it. 🥰
Glad at least five people here are enjoying them. I have always enjoyed photography. iPhones make it so easy now to grab that special shot or 10.

You’d be amazed how the buildings are still standing after a thousand years, with their walls bowing and bending. A testament to their engineering and build quality.
Oh, yeah, I know full well. Another wonder to me is seeing how well preserved many places as in Germany were still preserved even after all the "leveling" of WWII.
