I answered my own question! I found an old Weber Brothers Metal Works print ad on a Weber page. It says kettle diameter 22 1/2 "

Yes, I think so. I was able to get a pretty good idea of the materials and dimensions from pictures. I will let y'all know how it goes.

Anyone know how long did Weber make the original "George's Barbeque Kettle" before switching to the more familiar design?

The lid is what looks tough.

Initially, I am just going to make the stand. I like the look of it and I have a kettle with rusted off leg sockets that could use a stand. From the original ad, "stand fits inside kettle for easy storage". So, I was thinking of a large portable rig just for the fun of it. The bowl of the original looks to be pretty much (hemi-)spherical. So a modern one will work for now. However, I agree that the lid of the original looks to be the hard part. If I cannot find something close to repurpose, I will look into either spinning one or forming it on an English wheel.
