Genesis II w330 ?

Hi, last year I got a new Genesis II W330 grill. I like it a lot and used to keep the
cover on it when it was not being used. Then a squirrel decided that the space was
a perfect playground til I figured it out. Right below the sideburner on the right side
was a silver colored chain with a hook like holder hanging down on the ground.
What is the chain and hook used for?

I think it is there to hold a match to light the system if the igniter fails.

This chain is called the matchstick holder and is used to manually light the grill in case an issue should arise with the electronic igniter system.

I had to look it up once when I was assembling a grill as I could not fathom a guess what it was for.
