Genesis 300 Valve Stem Cleaning Troubles

I watched the Valve Cleaning Video but the stems on these don’t seem to come out from the rest of the housing.

So basically I tried using brake cleaner and Q Tips and a toothpick and it kinda worked.

But is there a better way to get the gunk out from where the stem goes into this housing?
That’s all the gunk that prevents it from pushing “in and out” smoothly.

I would use a piece of very fine grit sandpaper to clean the portion of the stem that moves up and down into the valve. After you get it shiny and clean maybe just a drop of machine oil to keep it working smoothly.

Never saw a valve like that one. Could try some ScotchBrite on the shaft. Tiny drop of heat proof oil (like ATF or even some light weight engine oil), on your finger, rub it around the stem. I think the ScotchBrite would be safer. Give it a good spray down with BrakeKleen after though
