Flip up side table brackets?

I've made all new wood slats which has gone quite well but I didn't take note of the spacing of the brackets on the underside of the flip up table so I'm a bit lost!

Any advice on how to install those brackets at the right height so the flip up table works well?

I will be needing this advice too when I get the slats stained and varnished.

The strategy I used was effectively trial and error for the upper one (the static pivot point). After that, I brought it up to it's full open spot and clamped it so it would stay horizontal. I then brought the arm up at it's full locked position and just attached the bracket where that landed. A bit fiddly but it worked!
