HELP PLEASE-

The first binder is 3" and only goes up to the L's. DH and I only like/eat Salmon. So far I have kept a few Bass and Bluefish recipes that are for the grill. Do you think I should keep just the ones for the grill for the rest of the fish or throw them all out?

so

Perhaps you could use a decluttering approach "would I buy this again" ?

In this case, "buying it" might be considered "reprinting it"

ask yourself, would I print this recipe again?
Yes -> Keep
No -> Toss

Hi Dan, the thing is, all the recipes are already printed out and taped in the binder, so all I have to do is take them off and put on a separate sheet of paper. IF DH is going to make it, the sheet of paper with the recipe on it goes on the front of the refrigerator. After he makes it and we eat it, then I put on the sheet of paper the date made and what we thought of it and then it goes in our binders of recipes made..... I know, TMI :giggle:

Hi Joan, I apologize, I don't think I explained it very well.

My suggestion follows this pattern:

"I own this thing. I can't decide if I want to keep it or not.... If I were to lose it, or if it was stolen, would I buy it again"

If the answer is NO, then toss it.

Applying that concept to your recipes, pull the recipe out of the binder, pretend you spilled Ketchup on the recipe. Would you the go to the trouble of reprinting it, or cleaning it or whatever.

If the answer is NO, then toss it.

recco to sort by fish type, not cooking method.

get it down to which fish/seafood you'd eat and keep those and toss the rest.

you live in FL and have access to a lot of fresh seafood. but if you only like salmon, then the point is moot to keep other recipes.

our go to seafood are: lobster, scallops, shrimp, crab, clams, mussels, salmon, chilean sea bass, cod, swai, rockfish, dolphin (mahi mahi). sometimes i'll buy a fried fish from the Asian grocery store where they cook it and we take it home to reheat and eat.

Brett, of course they are sorted by type of fish. THEN I sort them by how they are cooked. I guess what I was asking here is does anyone want any fish recipes?

Well, I don't know how I did it, but the few things I got rid of condensed the binders down from three to two binders. I was able to empty out the 1 1/2" binder. (but I still have two 3" binder full of fish recipes. :rolleyes:
