First Experience with Auber and 22.5 WSM

I recently purchased a new WSM and an Auber Instruments Controller.
This weekend I tested the Auber in my WSM with no meat.

I let the temp stabilize to 250 and plugged everything in. For the remainder of 4 hours, the Auber held the temp within 2 degrees.

Yesterday, I decided to try it with two chickens beer can style. Again, I let the temps come up to around 230 and plugged in the Auber.
The fan worked the temps up to 251 and it stayed there for 5 hours.

You can't see the 2 in the LED display in the picture but it should say 251.

I closed my top vent to 1/4 and all remaining lower vents to closed. The water pan was foiled with no water.

I did take the lid off to check temps around the 4 hour mark. The controller showed the temp drop to around 195.
I cracked the fuel door open and helped the temps come back up to 240. Closed the door and the Auber worked its way back up to 250 without overshooting.

Used a Maverick 732 to validate the temps at the grate and showed a 1 degree differential.

Purchased were the 20CFM fan and the 500 deg temp probe. No signs of ash blowing around in the WSM was observed.

I'm very impressed with this unit and feel confident that I can now leave my smoker unattended for short trips around town or even do an overnight cook.
