Finally joined the Q-1200 crowd,,,,,

Bought a used Q-1200 off of FB Marketplace, and already started the process of going thru the regulator delete conversion. Suffers from the typical low heat w/a 1# bottle, so for kicks I removed the regulator & valve assembly and measured the diameter of the orifice, the smallest drill I have is a #66 (.033"), it won't go thru the hole. Per the chart supplied by Anderson Forrester, not even close to the rated 8500 BTU's (far right column).

I've ordered the valve (only) and fittings off of Amazon, will be interesting to measure the new one once it arrives.

There is no need to change orifice after the regulator delete mod. Treading in dangerous ground doing that.
