Fiesta Margaritas

1/2 cup fresh lemon or lime
1/3 cup sugar
3 TB. water

1 cup plus 2 TB. tequila
6 TB. Curacao liqueur
6 TB. brandy
3 cups or more crushed ice

Combine juice, sugar and water in small saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Cool syrup completely. (Can be prepared 1 week ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)

Mix 1/2 cup plus 1 TB. syrup, tequila, Curacao and brandy in large pitcher. Add half to blender with 1 1/2 cup ice. Blend until smooth, adding more ice if thicker consistency is desired. Divide among 3 glasses. Repeat blending with remaining tequila mixture and ice. Serve immediately. Makes 6 servings
