Excited for Smoke Day!

It's been absolutely way too long! Between teaching, grad school, and kids I have been running around like mad.

But I'm taking this weekend to kick back and enjoy smoke day. I have a 12.5 lb pork butt and a 13 lb. packer brisket on deck. The pork butt is a lock, but this will be the first brisket I've ever done. Nervous and excited!

For now, I'm doing some prep-work to sit through a 7 year old's dance recital...

Very nice....I've never smoked a brisket myself. I would need more prep work than that, like I might have to take some work with me.
