Dedicated griddle vs griddle inserts vs custom gridlle grill

Looking for some information or opinions on what you use for a griddle. I've since restored my 400 and want to add, purchase or build a dedicated flat griddle as a therapeutic exercise. I saw a link here to some custom Grills but can't find it to get some ideas. In any case please feel free to share.

Hopefully that's the plan. I want to use only Weber parts and I'm finding it may be a singular sided griddle. Waiting on big orange and blue and white box store to deliver the parts.

I don't have room for a separate dedicated griddle, so I simply purchased a griddle half that fits on my Weber 435. It is supposed to fit in the designed cradle for a griddle, but I simply just lay it on top of the grates when I want to use it. Works very well and simple.

I tried that on the for the Summit but didn't like it. I ordered the half for the Spirit since I wanted to replace the Thermos Fire and Ice grill. I'm a brand loyalist so two Webers it is. The 2rd picture is of the my old NexGrill soon to be sold, donated or curbed. To think I don't even grill. Thank goodness for the wife and family of chefs.
