Hi all,

Nice to be on here and have a community to reach out to. I recently moved and unfortunately have no natural gas connection in the backyard. I am looking to convert my Weber Genesis II S-435 Natural Gas grill to propane.

I had someone help out change out the orifices, remove the natural gas regulator, and am using a propane hose/regulator. Unfortunately, the flame is practically non existent and gives off barely any heat to the point where you can't grill.

Links here for the orifices and the propane hose/regulator that I am using. Anyone have any advice on what else I can do?

I read that perhaps replacing the valve spool and/or the manifold will do the trick? If so, anyone have any links that would work for the Weber Genesis II S-435 grill? Appreciate anyone's input in advance. Thanks!

Hi Daniel, I guess I would start by playing with the adjustment on the regulator you bought. It might not be letting enough air in as it's not really the right one for your grill. It's also possible that the orifices you bought aren't the right size.

Chris the owner of this forum was nice enough to take a LOT of info I passed along as well as other people here who are skilled working with gas. He then put it all into on solid lock of information. In a nutshell however Weber purposely makes it nearly impossible to SAFELY do a conversion. Read through this https://tvwbb.com/threads/how-to-gas-conversion.82839/
Bottom line it CAN be done. The only safe and foolproof way for someone unskilled is a full manifold swap. These sellers who sell these so called "kits" should IMO be shot in the butt with rock salt and pepper corns. As they're promoting full on lies and basically stealing people's $$$$ and causing possible safety hazards

Thank you. Agreed I think the manifold swap is the way to go. Do you know of a resource where I can purchase the propane manifold version for my grill, Weber Weber Genesis II S-435?

I believe if you check with some of the more active members people with re to mods and rebuilds like Jon, Bruce and so on they have places. I think there is a company named "Grill Parts" that sells actual Weber OEM parts like that. Though sadly you might find it more cost effective to purchase a grill in the fuel type you want and see the other. Another idea is to offer for trade as well in the gas grill section of this bulletin board

Daniel, I'm glad you've decided to do this by swapping manifolds. The best way to look for parts is by using the grill's model # that you will either find on the owner's manual or the sticker on the grill which will also contain it's serial #, not just Genesis ii S-435
