Convert open cart design to closed?

We have a problem with critters trying to “help” us clean our Weber Genesis II open cart grill by disassembling it from the bottom up. They have easy access because of the open cart design. Has anyone here tried creating some kind of wrap around barrier that basically converts the openness to closed?

Maybe you would be better off ditching the Genesis II and find an old used Genesis Silver C.

Try suspending a mesh bag with a few mothballs in it. An old trick that usually keeps small rodents from chewing up wiring under the hood of cars.

Yes, but finding one that does not have the bottom rusted is a task for there is no replacement for it.

What kind of critters?

Can you post a pic of your grill so we know which version you are describing?
