Coffee grinder gadget

I didn't know if I needed one of these and still not sure I do but I bought one and Amazon delivered it last night.
I tried it this AM after grinding a pot's worth on the Baratza. I emptied the grounds into the filter basket first so the bin was empty. Gave about 4 pumps and a tiny bit of grounds came out. Dumped them and repeated. Same thing, a few more fines. I don't think I have a great need for it with the Baratza so I'm going to try it with the Delonghi Ariete at the beach house tomorrow morning...if it even fits the hopper.

My larger Shardor came with one. It does help. I punch it down a couple times while grinding and once or twice at the end. I do note it helps to keep fines and such out of the grinder and it keeps it cleaner overall. I also notice quite a lot less retention. So until I find a nicer grinder I will just use it
