My mom and her boyfriend wanted me to find them a gas grill because there charbroil finally rusted in two, literally, the lid fell off the grill!

So she wanted a good grill for cheap. They didn't want anything super huge or fancy or even to have a sideburner.

So I showed them this CL ad.

I'm guessing its a genesis silver B. You can't read the VIN so I have no clue what year? The lady told my mom its 6 years old but I'm thinking closer to 12.

It needs new flavorizer bars for sure and new grates to be great. And my mom's boyfriend is super stoaked. It also came with 2 propane tanks. Cool!

I told them that between home depot, lowes, and ACE they should be able to buy new grates and flavorizer bars locally. Does that sound right? The burners look good as brand new.

I told them SS is gonna be the best, but the PCI will do what they need it to do.

It was missing the thermometer. Its the off on the right side style. With just a little hole. I told them that it wasn't mounted originally and was meant to be used as a instant read meat thermometer also. Is this right?

I also told them the flavorizer bars and grates would be about $100 at HD? Sound right?

I just wanted to share with you all, and it was cool that my mom and her boyfriend were so excited about it. Can't wait for burgers or maybe she'll let me cook steaks on it next week.

Hi Kaz,

Looks like a Silver B to me as well. You can find the serial number (if its still visible) on the right edge of the burner dial panel (partially hidden by the right sided plastic bumper). If the first two letters are visible, you can see what year it was made. You can identify the exact model with the serial number on the Weber schematic website.

I have pics from a Silver B I found on CL and what it looked like after cleanup and upgrades (and what it cost me) in this thread. Looks identical to yours. I'm still missing the left sided plastic table top on mine

I ordered the flavorizer bars and grates (for the Silver A) from this guy on CL which many on this board have ordered from
