So, now for those of us here in the Midwest there is now a nasty unforeseen side effect of it. Apparently there was some kind of crazy rise in a type of mites that attacked and some how fed on cicadas. Now they're feeding on us humans. Just noticed I am a victim of it myself with a nasty red rash type area on the top of my shoulder. Apparently they hang in oak trees (or their leaves). And of course I have 2 large oks in my yard along with I had piles and piles of cicadas
