Char Q question

It's becoming impractical to use the performer everyday when just cooking for myself. I just saw a char q on craigslist and am considering it. I've read a few not so raving reviews that the charcoal is too close to the grate and causes the food to burn. Anyone have any experience with the char q?

Any product that has been discontinued after a very short run has to have some inherent flaws. That form factor is well suited to gas, but it just isn't deep enough for a real fire. If you want a smaller Weber, why not a Smokey Joe?

I did look at both smokey joe and jumbo joe. I like them both. Seems the jumbo joe may be a bit more flexible with regards to indirect heat cooking and a slab of baby backs should fit it fine.

Owned both smokey and Jumbo. I still have the Jumbo not the smokey. Tell you something? Jumbo is much better overall
