Changing the rails Genesis Gold

Anyone have any tips on this? seems like a simple task, but both screws are so rusted in there I can't break them free. I had the same on a few performer screws and ended up breaking the plastic. In this case, there is no plastic, but it is pretty bad to break them in the firebox.

the rails are bent to the point they have a hard time holding the existing grease funnel tray in place.(replacement free from Weber)

Try heat, penetrating oil and lots of patience. It's too bad Weber didn't spend $.10 more per grill and use stainless steel or at very least put anti seize on the threads

Ditto to what Lmichaels said. I used a product called pblaster and a lot of patience. Mine were really rusted and frozen but eventually came out cleanly.

When you get them out replace them with stainless.
