Can't ssh to HM. stuck..

I've searched the forum and believe that I might need to add another user to be able to SSH to the heatermeter? Not entirely sure though.

I am trying to ssh from the Internet, not the local network that the heatermeter is on.

I can access the heatermeter from the Internet and can enter the config mode. I'm looking for a place to add another user, but don't see it.

I'm trying to log into it via ssh. I've tried just the username: root and then the root password with no success. It says Password authentication failed, so I know the port is open and responding.
I've tried the username: root@192.168.2.200 (the HM's static IP address) and then the root password with no success. It says Password authentication failed, so I know the port is open and responding.
I've tried both the above usernames with NO password and get the same results. I'm making sure to use SSH2.

I've also tried to telnet, but telnet is not working. It does not appear to be listening to telnet as it just times out.

Not sure how to get this working. Something with a port forward on my Firewall? I wouldn't think so because I'm getting a reply that my password is not accepted.

I have it enabled in the HM admin GUI:

No need for another user, you ssh in as root.

If you're trying to do this from the internet, do you have a port forward setup to port 22 (ssh) on your heatermeter? If not, then it sounds like you might be trying to ssh into your router, not your heatermeter.

Steve, I'm sure you are correct. I was able to do it from the home LAN and made changes.
I don't think I'll open up another port in the firewall now.
