Can I make my own "redhead" ?

I am tired of looking for one! My every day kettle is showing its age from being left out side for ever! Does any one know if I could clean it head to toe, then sand it to rough it up and paint it red? I know people touch up old redheads but I just can not find one for sale. What about the high temp engine paint?

RustOleum has several different colors of high temp spray paint (the ones with the grill on the label), but I don't know if they've added a red yet. There's definitely a green, some tans/grays, and of course black.

No good options that I know of yet. Duplicolor engine red is good for touch-ups as is the red from Krylon (so I hear). The Duplicolor is rated to 500ish or something and turns black after a few cooks. If you hear of anything please post.

Ok tx guys. I do not think I will paint my whole kettle. I have just left it outside with no cover in Michigan for like 15 years! She is showing her age. I did paint the bottom triangle though because it was rusty....
