Cajun Bandit Door Problems

I didn't expect installation issues when replacing my stock door with the CB.

The CB doesn't fit properly. The bottom is very different from the stock door. It requires so much force to close it you risk tipping the smoker over. Also the bottom of the door grates on the outer wall; after a few attempts the porcelain started to rub off.

I'm thinking if I keep using it the porcelain will rub off by the latch. There's that much pressure.

Nobody else has these issues?

Very odd Alan. I have a CB door on my 18.5 for a couple years now. It did take a little more pressure to close, which I though was a good thing as in the end it did fit tighter.

Nothing like your experience though. I would just give them a call if I were you.

Sound like the bend/radious is off on the door you received.

I've got the Cajun Bandit doors on all my 22" & 18" WSM's and each one fits a little different from the other, but nothing like you describe.

You didn't mention what size bullet you are using, nor did you specify what model years you may have ordered, could it be possible you ordered or were shipped the wrong door for your cooker?

Mine was a bit off when I got it. CB sent me a new one and it was fine. Said the first door had sat at the bottom of the stack and the bend was changed making it fit incorrectly.
CB will make it right for sure if you call.
