Billows WSM set up

So which vent, and which vent hole do I put the Billows in? I have seen a set up with the Billows directly below the door.
Is that correct? And should the top vent be opposite that?

I don't think it makes any difference. Just do what is convenient and accessible.

The only thing to note is that the charcoal will tend to burn first from the side where the fan is blowing. So you might want to have the blower positioned so that, later on in the cook, you could either push or pull the remaining coals into a pile closer to where the blower is.

When I use billows on my 22 I have a 1 1/4” hole drilled for it that has a shutter I can close if I want.

On my 14 I just put it in the vent and it’s big enough to cover 2 almost 3 holes works fine like that.
