Billows Usage

Hello,

This is my first time posting here so please be gentile.

I finally pulled the plug and invested in a Thermoworks Signals & Billows automatic temperature control system to go along with my 22'' Weber Master Touch. I was able to install it and it ran successfully when conducting a couple test cooks over the weekend. I could not be happier.

I do have a couple of questions that I cannot seem to find answers for:

1. Should I leave my Billows installed on my Master Touch even though I may have future cooks that may not require it? I'm afraid that cold ash will get into the device damaging the fan.
2. If I should remove it, what should I use to temporally plug the 1" hole?

Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

You can use foil to seal the hole. I never leave anything attached when not in use. I'm more concerned about heat when no air is being pulled through. Did you make the hole? Is there a fitting?
