Bbqgaskets.com install question

I purchased the Nomex gasket and adhesive from bbqgaskets.com. I installed them on the lid lip and the door. I hope I got enough of the adhesive applied to make them stick. I'm sure I'm good on the door, but not 100% sure on the lid lip. I let it dry and then fired up the WSM to start the curing process. I only used about half of a 13lb bag of Kingsford Blue. I turned on my CyberQ WiFi and set it for 475 (max). Temps climbed steadily to about 375, but there wasn't enough charcoal to keep climbing. The adhesive says to take it to about 500 for 1-2 hours. I was short on time tonight, so I couldn't fire more coals, etc to get it all the way to 500. What kinds of problems am I looking at? Can I re-cure it tomorrow night when I have more time? It was around 375 for about 2 hours before temps started to fall.

Thanks,
Mac

You will probably be okay. I 've done two WSM with Nomex. I think the big thing is to get the heat to the adhesive to start the curing process. Worst case for the lid is the material will come loose. and you will have to do scrape it off and do it again. On my second application I used a propane torch to start the cure and then finished it with the smoker assembled. I passed the torch back and forth and just went all around. FYI I found the biggest advantage was doing the bottom of the mid section and the door. The lid is not so important. Your not likely going to get 500 degrees anyway with the smoker unless you have the lid up.
