I dont have pictures but I have a Green Weber kettle that I bought around 1993"ish", first grill I ever purchased new. Might have purchased it from Crate and Barrel, I honestly dont remember. Its just like a current model Performer, in fact I think thats what it was called back then also, not sure. The flat area to the right of the grill is all stainless and opens to a charcoal storage bin. I've not used the propane start option in YEARS but the gas lines are still there. About 5? years ago, when they mandated all propane tanks have the overflow valve installed, I refitted both the tank connection and the hose on the grill to fit any propane tank, not just the 5 pound tank that came with it. If I remember correctly it had a small valve that was necessary to fill the tank as it wasn't a normal male/female propane connector we see on todays tanks. It needs some work and if there is some value in the grill, other than sentimental, I'll put some time and money into fixing it up. If all I'm going to end up with after I fix it up is a 17 year old grill I may just pass and start over. The repairs that are needed are a new ash assembly on the bottom, the original has rusted off, this seems to be the difficult part as the "hooks" that attach the whole aluminum piece to the bottom of the kettle have rusted. The inside bottom vent covers also need to be replaced as they have nearly rusted through over the years, this will be relatively simple. I've not hooked gas to it in quite some time but I think the starter still works and I believe if I hook up a tank, it will start. Any advice is appreciated. Its been kept under cover all of its years and I do like the grill, just wondering if its worth the effort and cost to rebuild this grill. Thanks in advance.
