Any quality advantages in the pre-dated kettles over the current ones?

I see that there is an older 22" kettle in my area. I've already have enough SSP to last my lifetime and then some. However, I've always wondered if these have a better build than the ones that I have. It does have some rust stains and dents. But for it's age, looks quite well. Worth picking it up to use as a daily driver? Or just for special occasions?
