Any interested in a 4.0 Heatermeter?

I built one with Maverick probes and used it for monitoring some temps but ended up with a great deal on a pellet smoker so it's just sat in my box of other projects I haven't messed with.

4.0 hardware/3d printed case with maverick probes. We added an external connection for ambient temperature monitoring. Brand new probes and the edimax wireless controller. 512MB SD card and I'll look at what software rev is on it. Also have an RCA cable and the recommended blower as well I did nothing with.

$100 shipped work?

Will grab some pictures-I'll confirm what software rev it has as well. I don't think I ever updated it beyond what I built it up as 2 years ago.

Great project-just stick with my maverick and PID based pellet smoker.

Replied. Thanks!

For anyone around the Charlotte, NC area I'm going to sell my weber kettles and mini WSM as well.

Edit-I think I'm going to keep this and sort out updating it and running with it vs. buying pre bought. Now if my Prusa MK2 would get here so I can print my own goodies. :)

Nice! I was having bad bad problems with nozzle jams after I had a print catastrophe a week ago and wistfully watched about 10 hours of video about the MK2 while I was trying to get it working again. That is one amazing combination of attention to detail, hardware innovation, and software support that I wish my i3 was. I want a couple of those PINDA probes too!

That sucks. I had a printrbot simple modified but got tired of adjusting it with humidity changes and the wood based frame. I've been watching the site and wish I had ordered a month or more ago as now I'm waiting until mid Jan at best. Did you see they are having issues with the multi material upgrade?

Side note-and may be stickied but working from my phone around a sick 8 month old. Upgrade paths from 4.0 to 4.24 or 4.3?

Yeah I did see the multimaterial upgrade and I thought it was a neat idea. My original corexy design was going to have a second extruder on it as well but the more I thought about the reality of having a second extruder oozing all the time while printing and thinking about how the printer would never actually know how much plastic to feed to get it primed again would mean there's very little chance of it producing anything of quality. They get around that with their idea but still seemed like you'd always get some amount of color mix or use more filament changing colors than actually printing. I still feel like multimaterial is just not a great idea with this sort of tech and I am not surprised they're having some issues with it.

As far as upgrade path, 4.0 is still supported even with the coming software so I'm not sure how much reason to upgrade there is unless you want built-in servo damper support. If that is the motivation, you can use a 4.2 HeaterMeter with your existing Pi, Wifi, and SD Card and save a decent chunk of cash there. Blower too if you want to make a new cable for it.

Thanks Bryan-will check out the 4.2 as I've been watching the servo damper.

Those were my thoughts too on the multi material-if one were to do it right the price point wouldn't be at this level. From a tinkering perspective yes but still a long ways off from more beginner use. I'm barely intermediate having been out of it for a year and a half. :)
