Any experience with "built-in" gas grills?

I can't speak to the built-in model, but my dad has the free-standing version of the same grill and it is awesome.

My friend has the same built in D4 as I have rolling and they are they same except you can't move his.

Joe,here is my Genesis,WSM,and OTS "built in" to my outdoor cooking area. All standard cooking equipment. The only mods I did was to add casters to the WSM so I could access the bottom vents.

Do you pull the WSM out of the enclosure when you smoke, or leave it in place? I have a Stoker for mine, so I never need to adjust the vents.

Phil, very nice outdoor cooking area you have there. Is that a brick oven or fireplace or both?

Hi Joe,

You might consider a DCS 36" Grill Head. Not sure of pricing difference where you are at. More expensive for sure but all 304ss, lifetime warranty on all ss components.

Really nice ceramic infra red rotis burner, heavy duty rotis rod motor and forks. It has a built in smoker box pull out tray with it's own burner and cast SS cooking grills and a grease management system.

Their 30" is more size comparable to the Weber 460 but if I was gonna go DCS Id get a 36" or better. The 30" does NOT have the grease management system, the smoker box and burner or the cast SS cook grills. The burners are lighter gauge as well on the 30".

I'll look at the DCS. We had a DCS cooktop in a previous home, and I like it a lot. It's almost twice the price of the Weber, though.

Bob,yes, that is a wood burning oven. I've cooked many pizzas and some chicken breasts in it. We love it! We cooked pizza for 20+ people in it last friday!
