I finally got around to installing Probe eyelets in my WSM.
I used "Jack Nuts" that I picked up at "Fastenal".

I used the Step Bit to enlarge the Grate Bracket mounting holes to 7/16" inside and out.

After some HH paint on the outside, I pushed the Jack Nut through the hole and using a 1/4-20 Hex head bolt and nut driver in my cordless drill....

I tightend up the "Nut". It works like a Molly type wall anchor, spreading out the tabs until they're flat. I needed pliers to hold the the Nut to keep it from spinning. Sorry no pic as i didn't have enough hands.

The thing that I like about these is, they can be sealed with a 1/4-20 SS Thumb Screw.

Nice work. I like this mod. I purchased two with my stoker, but I think this is the way to go. Resealable is a great option, and they are permanent. Are yours stainless?
thanks for the pics

No, They're Zinc. They should be OK for this application.

Beutifull idea! It just goes to show that you have to know what to ask/look for. There are sooooo many differant types of fasteners that nobody knows exist.

Very nice clean mod.... not as redneck as mine... lol.

Thanks for the nice words guys. I tried them out with a couple of Meat loafs and they worked out great.
