Aluminum Drip Bar Issue- 05 Genesis Silver B

I am wrapping up my rehab of a Genesis Silver B I picked up. I removed the aluminum slots for the grease pan since some grease had built up on the underside by the previous owner. Well now for the life of me, I cannot get the screws tightened enough to secure the bars. Did the previous owner use the right screws? They are 1/2” roughly self-tappers. I couldn’t find this detail on Weber’s site or on the schematic.
