3D food? I mean printing! Wait what?

You ever thought a 3D printer could do this? I Had a sit down meeting with these guys last week. This stuff was mind blowing. I'm a food guy and it took me awhile to wrap my head around it. The future is even more scary. Pretty much anything that grows, you will be able to re-scripture and produce with in days. You wont need a tree to grow an orange. You can model the cracker, set it on your counter top, A week later, you have a full mature orange that taste like the best ribs you ever had.

seems a little silly from what I saw..... like a sprouter?? Technology keeps blowing me away so

Its just the infancy of it. Some of the crap they were talking about makes perfect sense. Will we ever see it change the world of food in the grocery? I doubt it. But I'm sure I will see the restaurant world be change in the next 15. Just imagine you have all your buddys coming by for the superbowl. Ribs, slaw and twice baked potatoes on the menu. Three days ahead you script out your menu. You print your cracker with all the flavors in your cabbage and carrots for your slaw. Set it on the counter. Print a dozen crackers out for your Potatoes with your garlic, cheese, chives, bacon, sour cream and butter built into the script. Set it on the counter. 3-4 days later you have a perfect balance of slaw and a dozen fresh potatoes. Now us being OLD school. This thing just takes the fun out of everything we stand for. Would I use it? Absolutely! Fresh veggies and herbs every few days would be awsome. I just hate what it might do to the agriculture industry in 50yrs if this technology does take off on a massive scale.

A week for an orange.....I kind of like the old way where I pick it from the tree, juice it and drink the juice along with my ribs.
