My '95 kettle's vents work fine when it's cold, but when the fire is going, they tend to stick. I thought about spraying Pam on them. What do you guys use?

they might be gunked up. try a good cleaning. many times it just can't be done, so i just take the vents off and then clean. i also replace the hardware with ss nuts and bolts.

As George said, a good cleaning may help.

Lew, I see that you're in Marietta - Do you ever go to Williamson Bros? That's one of the places I miss since I moved to Finland.

-Mark.

I've given it a good cleaning and they still stick. Maybe I'll drill out the rivets and replace them with bolts.

Mark, I don't eat 'Q out very often but I always have a couple of bottles of Williamson Bros. sauce in the cupboard.

one hint. very hard to find ss locking nuts and you can't use locking washers. a trick is to slightly damage the bolt threads. this will let the nuts screw on but it will hold them firmly.
