I am trying to get my sideburner to fire up but so far no luck. The main grill works fine, however when I bought the grill the sideburner was not connected so I have no idea when the last time it functioned.

I am able to ignite the sideburner but the flame on full is very weak, it looks like a BIC lighter. I see the number stamped in the orifice of 66. I am not sure if the problem is the orifice valve or even the sideburner to manifold connection.

Any recommendations for further troubleshooting?

Sideburner parts seem pretty scarce, anybody have an alternative remedy for getting their old sideburner back in action?

Thanks!

I should have mentioned it is a LP gril. According to the sticker the sideburner and grill are LP, Im not sure if someone messed with it previously. I can see what looks like tool marks on the orifice. Based on my research the orifice should be a 58 for 12000 BTU output with LP.

I tore everything apart and basically the problem turned out to be blockages. The spring in the valve had rusted up pretty bad and there was some debris in the ports. The supply line had junk in it too I had to use an old coat hanger to ream it out.

After rebuilding it there is plenty of air flow. Im gonna hook it up tomorrow to the grill and give it a shot. A lot of parts where seized up so I wrapped them in teflon tape in case they need to come apart again should this pose a problem for LP ?
