1st Brisket Test on new OTG

starting out with the partial brisket test ... grape, oak hickoy apple chips, Cowboy charcoal.. set up as most posted directions .. vent bottom almost closed upper open.. now set back with a beer and NASCAR ..
 
Gd luck Darnell, when i smoke on my otg i leave the bottom vents 100% open and control temps with the lid vent, have tried it both ways and have found that controlling with the lid damper is a lot easier and more consistent, 1/2 open damper runs around 275-325, 1/4 runs around 230-275, them temps can be tweaked by just moving the damper very little either way can really dial in on target temp, and i also use the weber charcoal holders, start out with a full holder with 4 lit coals, try it out see what u think works for me
