Well the bird's been on since about 11:30 this AM .you can't see it cuz it's on the bottom grate , but here's how it looked all rubbed up just before it went on...

I put the squash and sweet potatoes on about a half hour after and here they are after about an hour...

Turkeys at about 120 now , so it's got a ways to go , but the temp is nice and steady and we should be good to go in a few.
Turkey was all done by about 3 pm....came out nice. Which I expected.

The real surprise was how delicious the sweet potatoes and squash came out! They look good , but I wish you could taste them! That smoky , nutty taste is indescribable. I dusted them all with the same rub I used on the bird , so it kind of echoes the flavor of the turkey. And basically , they're roasted as opposed to baked and you just taste that wood fire difference. Really nice flavors all around.
