    New stoker-web

So I've been playing with this all day (advantages of being retired) and I've come to this conclusion: 1. My firmware version does indeed work fine. 2. The error can be eliminated by deleting the current cook and creating a new one, even though it's the same setup. After doing that I received...

    New stoker-web

not sure anyone is still working with Stoker-web for development, but I still use it when cooking. I recently converted my server to a Pandaboard (TI OMAP4 ARM) because it's fast enough to run this app and I have the board doing nothing. It freed up a NUC for another project. Just looking at...

Protective (Weatherproof) Case For CyberQ or Stoker?

If you are talking about the Stoker blower fan, then I build an awning over it with a stiff plastic sheet and duct tape to keep the rain out. I also put the power bricks in a plastic bag. But I try to put a tent up to keep most of the rain away. All this stuff just takes care of the little...

Trying to set up stoker network connection, not having luck

I've had a lot of issues with the performance of the Linksys game controllers. I have a different one from you. With the white box Stoker, I found that for best WiFi performance I took and old Linksys AP Router and flashed it with the DD-WRT firmware and then configured the AP/router to be a...

    New stoker-web

I wanted to close on issues above with configuration. I've gotten a lot more familiar with the operation and used stoker-web on my NUC PC monitoring the Stoker during a 14 hour smoke last weekend. Worked flawlessly. I used whatever PC/tablet was handy to login and check the cook, even used...

Protective (Weatherproof) Case For CyberQ or Stoker?

here's my example I took the plastic box idea and implemented it. Picture below. I cut slots in both ends and then used the plastic from the slot hole and duct tape to make a auto closing awning, sort of. Inside the box is a 1st generation Stoker and a NUC PC directly connected to the Stoker...

Protective (Weatherproof) Case For CyberQ or Stoker?

The plastic box idea is a really good one. I'm thinking you could cut a few slots in the back of it for the probes and wires. You could attach a little plastic awing over the slot holes to protect from a driving rain.

    New stoker-web

Well, I finally pulled my head out of my smoker and figured out that I had not properly configured the Stoker-web settings via the drag and drop function. Dials are now showing.

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

I've done some more playing and may have answered 2 of my questions: 1. I think my Stoker is working correctly. 2. I think I have a typical network, which will have problems. What I did to determine this is I connected the Stoker and my PC running StokerLog to the same DHCP switch with no...

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

I have a white Stoker with 2.7.0.207 firmware (no WiFi). I use a Linksys/AP running DD-WRT to get the Stoker on my wireless network. Running StokerLog 6.9RC3 and it appears to be stable for many hours. However, I notice in the log that StokerLog loses contact with Stoker and has to reconnect...

    New stoker-web

Installing Stoker-web on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS For fun today I tried to get stoker-web installed on my Ubuntu 14.04 LTS NUC PC. It's smaller than the Stoker and is a Core i5. I downloaded the runStokerweb.jar per the instructions and everything seemed fine, but when I open the localhost:8080, it...

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

To add a little more detail to my above quick reply. I've been away from smoking, Stoker usage, and StokerLog usage for quite a while. I sinned by using an electric smoker for a while, but now have the time to go back to the superior method of using a Bubba Keg with Stoker controller...

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

I can not get twitter to work either, yet it says I activated. I get no test message to my twitter account either. And yes I have the check mark for enabling twitter.

    Stokerlog Version 6

If you have the firmware in the Stoker updated to at least the version that fixed twitter to use Supertweet.net, it works fine. I did notice that if you didn't have at least 1 blower, one fire probe and one meat thermometer then it would not tweet. Not sure if that has been fixed because I...

    Stokerlog Version 6

I Fleetz, Bob was responding to my post about firmware 2.7.0.207 in the white non-WiFi model of Stoker. It works fine for me with StokerLog 6.7 as long as you remember that StokerLog 6.7 has alarms that are independent of the Stoker alarms and in fact turns them off, if you enable the...

    Stokerlog Version 6

Okay, I had some time to test this some more. Again White Stoker non-wifi. firmware 2.7.0.207. I started with a blower associated with a fire probe and 2 meat temperature sensors connected, but no alarms were set on the Stoker unit itself. Using StokerLog 6.7 I then connected and started...

    Stokerlog Version 6

I may have missunderstood the alarms explanation. Are you saying that once I set and use the fire and food alarms in StokerLog, it will turn the ones off at the Stoker itself. At that point only the alarms on StokerLog are valid and set? I agree that since I'm inside with the PC and not by the...

    Stokerlog Version 6

Well it doesn't look like my screenshots made it using the insert picture URL. I had them on flickr, they didn't make the post.

    Stokerlog Version 6

So here's results of the test. No blower disassociation, but some issues. First the setup: Acer Atom Aspire One Netbook Windows 7 Starter 32 bit Service Pack 1. lastest updates as of 4/9/2012 completely uninstalled Stokerlog 6.7, including deletion of program files directory for AmirM...

    Stokerlog Version 6

I have the results of my first test in a PDF with screenshots. I'm not sure how to get it on this forum. I can always email it to someone.
