Even the Weber solid SS grates (#7639) are crap

The solid stainless grates on my EP310/330 will rust up like that occasionally, seems like usually after high heat grilling in humid conditions or after just sitting for awhile. I find mine tend to pit too if the rust stays unaddressed. I clean them off with wire brush and scouring pads, seems...

GII E-410 an upgrade over Genesis E-330?

This is what my wife and I do - we have a EP310 with the (now out of production) right burner smoker box we use for low and slow stuff or burgers, and a matching color EP330 for steaks, fish, and more capacity if we need it. I think the matched set looks good on the deck for parties and saves...

    SS Grate Cleaning Issue

The black scrubber things that Weber makes for the purpose actually work pretty well. They're more aggresive than a typical scrubber sponge. Typically I burn the grates off for ~15min at as high temp as I can beforehand, let them cool down then scrub them off. Seems to work decent for me

Weber gas kettle popped up on CL

It's too bad to hear they don't work well, it'd be a cool mid-week time crunch cooker for a charcoal kettle fan! Is the apparent lack of flavor bars / flareups the issue? If so does that big saucer thing in the middle help at all? Or is that for some other purpose

Weber gas kettle popped up on CL

I don't see these pop up often so I thought I'd post it for anyone looking for one: A seemingly nice condition Weber Gas Kettle is on Detroit CL : https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/for/d/weber-collectors-heres-your/6659440478.html I'd be curious enough to bite if it were a lower price but I...

    Cover Recommendations

I'd recommend the original 7107 Weber cover if going that route. I blew a seam out on a new (7130?) Genesis II cover in less than a year on my EP330, and it was mostly in the garage not outside. Weber warrantied it but I think either it doesnt fit the older grills well or it is just cheapened...

    Original Genesis 2 Cover

Classic Accessories brand covers seem to get good reviews although I haven't had one. I bought one of the new Weber covers (7130 I think) for my last generation E330 and it blew out a seam in less than a year. Weber did warranty it but it's pretty lightweight for the money. The older Weber...

    E-310 vs E-410

Looking at the specs again LMichaels is right - BTU/sq-in is basically a wash between e310 and e410. I could swear it favored the 310 when I looked last year, maybe Weber changed the specs this year, I dunno. Regardless the 73-74 BTU/sq-in from either the 310 or 410 will be adequate and...

    E-310 vs E-410

The 310 will be a bit more powerful as it has more BTU/area. And it'll also be more fuel efficient if you dont use the extra area on the 4- burner. 3 burners is a convenient and flexble layout. I don't know why Weber seems to be pushing the 4-burners at the moment to be honest, the specs...

Left burner won't stay lit, even after replacing it

Hi, Have you called Weber Customer Service? They can be very helpful for unusual issues like this. Has the grill ever been in an accident (like tipped over?)

    Which gasser should I get?

I think the SE310 is a nice setup, 3 burners is both efficient for average size family meals and all you need to have flexibility for indirect cooks like ribs and pulled pork. The stainless grates and flavor bars are worth the small premium they charge IMO, they clean up easy and are...

    Which gasser should I get?

Of the options listed, personally I'd lean toward the Genesis II e310. I have one of the last generation, we use it heavily and it has been a very versatile and enjoyable grilling machine. The Spirit line tends to have less options for upgrades like stainless grates and flavor bars...

Another nice Genesis 1000 redhead restoration

Really nice restoration! Amazing that she was able to get the original wood cleaned up and refinished like new, makes me want to give that a shot!

    Three Burner Gas Usage

That BTU sounds high for a 3-burner Genesis. Is it including a side burner maybe?

    Three Burner Gas Usage

That's a really good idea, despite being an engineer by trade I hadn't thought of that before! So assuming 21,548 BTU/lb of propane, 17lbs of gas, and a typical 36,000 BTU grill, it should run for at least 10 hours. Longer than I would have thought!

    Three Burner Gas Usage

On the Genesis 310 I use for Brisket cooks, I usually have one burner on 1/2 throttle going for ~20 hours, it eats up 3/4 of a tank or so. If you've got all burners on high then I'd think you probably are in the 6-8 hour range for a full tank.

Newer Spirit e310? for $25. Not sure it is worth it

If the current owner is the original one he may be able to warranty the firebox depending on the age of it. Not 100% sure on Spirits but the Genesis firebox's were warranted for a very long time. If thats the case could it be worth asking him to do that and offering more than he's currently...

Grease fire -- what did I do ?

As others have also indicated my experience has been that the grease fires are due to excessive buildup of gunk. But I really doubt it did any damage if you only got to 600F on the hood temp - the E330's from the same era have essentially the same firebox and can regularly get over 700F+...

    Genesis 310 Conversion Issue

I hear ya, Weber lost some functionality when they went N-S burners, wouldn't surprise me if they brought it back someday. But for ribs specifically you might be surprised with your E310. I've been able to do 3 full racks of St. Louie's (Costco 3-pack!) or 2 full racks of spares at once, set...

    Genesis 310 Conversion Issue

Sounds like normal temps to me, I've got a '14 EP310 and '16 EP330, I have to run only 1-2 main burners to get stable temps below 400F. You should be able to get stable hood temp of 200F or less with one burner on though. Everything I grill below 400F is using indirect heat anyway, so...
