    HeaterMeter Hardware v4.3.3, v4.3.4, v4.3.5, v4.3.6

Great to hear. My buddy happened to have an RPI 3B collecting dust to I'm looking to build a 4.3 HM to replace my previous 4.2 built back in 2015 that got fried, unfortunately. I have a couple of questions if someone can help. What boards do I need to order from OSHPARK? Is it just the...

Google Home Display or Google Assistant Integration

Apologies if this has been covered. I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything. I have a Google Home display in my kitchen and every time I'm doing a cook I think it would be great if I could see the Heatermeter status on the display. I have no idea how difficult it would be but is...

    Fan Instead of Blower?

Hey thanks for all the feedback, guys. I thing I'll grab a fan or two off Digikey and give them a try. I'll update and let you know how it works.

    Fan Instead of Blower?

I'm building a gravity fed smoker and I'm thinking about trying a fan instead of a blower to create a custom attachment. My impression is that blowers typically create more pressure than a similar sized fan. What are the important specs when choosing a fan or blower? Is this doable? If it...

    PID Debug Display Command?

Can someone tell me what the command to set from the web admin is to show the pid values debug display please? I typically use my phone to interface with the HM so I can't just hit P on the keyboard. It would be ideal if there was just a checkbox to show it.

Set Command for Actual PID Values?

Thanks, Bryan. I'll upgrade to the latest snapshot.

Set Command for Actual PID Values?

Is it possible to set a command to change the actual current pid values? I'm experimenting with the pid settings and if I set one of them back to zero the live value stays where it is instead of going to zero

    Port Forwarding Tutorial?

Is there a port forwarding tutorial somewhere? I was able to navigate the wiki and have the Link Meter set up and working on my LAN but I'm a total noob and just don't know where to start with accessing it outside of my LAN.

    Shees Alive She is ALIVE

That's awesome. I had the exact same experience with the display when I first plugged mine in. What kind of smoker are you hooking it up to?

2nd HM Cook with Blower Fix Went Much Better

Thanks for the feedback. I posted about the trouble after the first cook with the HM and Auber 10cfm fan here. I tested max blower settings all the way down to 10% with the same results. The graph in that post shows the pit temp dropping every time the fan kicks on. It just dropped slower...

2nd HM Cook with Blower Fix Went Much Better

My first cook with the HM didn't go so well. I figured out the 10cfm Auber blower setup I chose was basically just blowing cool air into my WSM instead of stoking the fire. This is because the blower attached to the vent above the fire and angles upward. After seeing how the BBQ Guru WSM...

so how are you attaching your blower to the smoker

Here's what I rigged up to make my Auber blower usable on the WSM.

so how are you attaching your blower to the smoker

I can't speak for Todd but I tried turning the max fan speed all the way down to 10%. It just cooled the pit slower.

so how are you attaching your blower to the smoker

So I decided to try the Auber snap on blower with my 22" WSM. Unfortunately I can't recommend it at this point. The blower attaches to the pit nicely but the angle it attaches it just seems to blow cool air up into the top of the pit and it really only seemed to be good at bringing down the...

First HM Smoke Didn't Go Well :(

Batman. LOL. After about 19:00 I just turned off the fan and opened the vents and door a few times to get some heat into my pork so I could just take it off. I started late so it's in the oven now.
