New Pi Zero $5 stripped down RasPi

Mine does not seem so bad. Compared to a raspberry pi v1. I think it will only get better. I really like that it has BLE4 and wifi, and a battery charger on board. No extra $$ necessary.

New Pi Zero $5 stripped down RasPi

Ok, I just got my two chip computers in and I have to say this would be a great platform for a cheaper heatermeter. It really has everything except the ADC, and a thermocouple amp(if you need one). It is smaller, it runs linux, already has wifi and bluetooth. I think a cleverly designed...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

The jack does not take two wires easily. Best option is to connect the two ground wires so only one of them need to attach to the jack itself. That may be your issue.

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

I have one I can sell you. It only has the fan and servo. No jacks for probes or thermocouple, I just use the jacks in the HM directly for that. PM if you are in interested. I can let this one go for what I paid for parts. It's a spare.

Espress for HeaterMeter Module (wifi with no Pi/Linkmeter needed)

Wow! Ok, I recently built a heatermeter, and I love it. I was wondering if it would be possible to make one small enough to fit a case that held the fan, servo and the controller. I ended out finding something that also uses the ESP2866 called the adafruit feather Huzzah check it out...

$9 computer with wifi built in

Thanks, I'll take a look. I'm still waiting on my Chip. It looks like SBCs with built in WiFi are finally becoming a thing, here comes the IoT... I just stumbled across this one too, an arduino zero, with wifi, pretty cool, when it happens. https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoMKR1000

$9 computer with wifi built in

have you guys seen this one? https://www.adafruit.com/categories/777 I just ordered a feather Huzzah and an OLED. ESP8266 Wifi and the oled is 128x32, which will work nicely for 4 lines of text, or some basic graphics. It looks incredibly small too. It may be small enough to mount inside a...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Will, I've been using your first design from here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1177115 In fact those pictures are my damper. I like the simple no box design since I have no thermocouple and I did not want to jumper all those wires either. It seems though that the smaller fan does...

    Anyone tried this fan?

Since I did not jumper the wires for the external probes, I decided to get one of these printed up by a local printer. This guys prints are just amazing and I got the Sunon fan from Digikey here in the US. The fit on the exhaust is really precise, same for the cat5 jack, nice job. Mounting...

    Anyone have a spare switch

Thanks guys, I actually got it to work. It is a temporary fix, since it stands a bit tall in the case, but it works while I wait for new ones to come in the mail. It got me through the weekend. https://goo.gl/photos/a5tHewMNukCXow6f6

    Anyone have a spare switch

So I ordered one on line, it took over two weeks to get here and this is what I got. https://goo.gl/photos/w9GLSRFfdwrRAUYW6 Not happy. I was really hoping to get my inaugural HM run going this weekend, don't see that happening now. Does anyone on this board have a switch they can send...

    PID settings for a WSM 22.5" ?

Anyone using HM successfully with a 22.5 WSM? I should be ready for my first test run soon. If anyone has some solid PID settings I would like to use them as a starting point.

    Heatermeter, really well done.

I think I'm closer to the $200 mark for mine. HM case $22 rotodamper $36 rotodamper $36 servo $10 probes $48 board $14 parts $60 total $190 The biggest cost seems to be the probes, but you don't need to get 4 if you are on a budget. You can get by with one...
