Coffee Beans what's in your grinder ???

Well I gave the Billy Goat a try this AM. 16.5-1 ratio, bloom 205, 3 pulses with the Aiden 200, 195 then final at 190. Used the Ode 2 to grind since it was a one off brew today. Set at just under 8 for grind level. A hair too fine for the Aiden as there was a slight amount of over flow of the...

Honestly Josh, I think the ceramic briquettes are the "sweet spot" to me. They allow the best combination of fierce heat and dispersion (obviously not as good at dispersion as lava rock or fierce heat as the tiles) but for good overall general grill use and versatility I thought they did the...

    What a score today!

Much appreciated! She's still in "recup" mode from the BC surgery but she's feeling better. She's been doing some light stuff around the house now. Passing the Swifter, light laundry and the like. So far so good

    What a score today!

It did great Cody. I did find I had to let it run quite a while to pre-heat but that was simply due to my not fully understanding the unit's operation. I was pre-heating it on "low mid/low" because I was unsure how hot it actually could get and how fast or not fast. It's all a learning thing...

Man that is a GREAT find especially with that IR side burner. If you're gonna build one really good BM to "keep" that would not be a bad one to have. Although (especially with ceramic tiles) those things get so intensely hot seems the IR burner is over kill. Though my experience with using it...

I might have one or 2 of those old manifolds in my back garage. I'll take a look tomorrow

It's a simple brass 1/8" NPT fitting. Available pretty much at any home center i.e. Menards, Home Depot, Lowes, a hardware store, what have you

    What a score today!

OK gave the new oven a whirl tonight. I bought a Sam's Club Artisan Margherita pizza (they're boxed and basically uncooked only enough to "set" the dough a little). I knew these pizza ovens are fast. Having never used one I wasn't prepared for how fast. Within 20 seconds I got that little "over...

Interesting new gadget to my coffee arsenal

I gave mine to daughter as she starts her "journey" in grinding and sampling new and different coffee. I.E. I have her the Two Brothers Montage medium roast because I'd given her some I brewed here and she loved it so then she wanted to try it on the little brewer I gave her with the Shardor...

    Valve repair Summit 470

I would remove the manifold and valves, disassemble the offending one, carefully documenting with photos every piece and every place that piece belongs. It's likely old grease in the valve has migrated into an internal orifice. I had similar issues (not ignition but poor heat) on my OG Genesis 2...

Yeah never saw a stock Weber with a hex head. Also IIRC Weber did use stainless steel bolts as OEM

So is the valve one of those "jet type"? If so while I've never actually seen or used one I'd think maybe some cleaning would be in order.

Weber Sear Zone burners and orifices

Again, pay heed to my caution I posted. In pretty close to 100% of the cases you CANNOT SAFELY or effectively convert a Weber grill from LP to NG or NG to LP with a simple orifice change. Anyone who tells you otherwise does not understand what they're doing or the possible dangers they're...
