    Airflow in my ECB

I've never run an airburner - I don't really like the idea of it, I try to duplicate a natural airflow as much as possible - but I think you're problem is you probably went to small on your tubing diameter.

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

Update: The part to fix my printer will be delivered tomorrow, Saturday Nov 12. So any orders placed now will be delayed a little bit and will be shipped on Monday. From then on I will be back on regular schedule - that is, I'll ship same day if order is placed early or next day if the order...

    Email Temp Script for Heatermeter

A good thing to keep in mind is that you can easily turn this into a text message instead of an email too. Google search to find what you cell phone provider uses to send email as a text. Example, verizon uses "yourphonenumber@vtext.com"

    The Steakager

I'll stick with the Umai products. Haven't used it to dry age steaks, but it works very well for my charcuterie

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

Bryan Mayland, if he ever reads here, might be able to help you out since he runs a large BGE with a MicroDamper. Others do too, but I don't remember them by name. Perhaps he can give you a more tuned in PID. If I were you I'd start the pit the same way you are used to. You might want to...

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

Uggghhh! A bearing seized on my printer, so I'm currently down until a new one comes in which will take 2 or 3 days. I'll leave MicroDamper.com online and still allow orders to go through but keep in mind shipping will be delayed a couple days. For those of you who have put in orders recently...

First cook questions with HeaterMeter 4.3 and Rotodamper 3

Someone on this forum is using a MicroDamper with that exact pit, I can't for the life of me remember who that is and I'm not finding it when I'm searching through my emails so hopefully he sees this and can try to help you out.

Brand New Damper Design - "The Micro Damper"

I made it back from vacation this weekend, so MicroDamper.com is now back up again.

Why do I need a damper?

More or less. It doesn't quite work that way. For simplicity sake I'll just say yes. Not necessary for it to run, it helps your system run more efficiently. It also gives you and easier way to attach a blower/fan

Why do I need a damper?

Love it, lol 1) The dampers allow you to shut off air flow completely. With a pit like an Egg like you have, it's very important to be able to shut down airflow in order to properly regulate temperature. 2) I don't own an Egg, so I can't comment on that exactly but I do have an Akorn...

Heatermeter 4.3, Damper Servo acting weirdly

I don't remember if you ordered from me, but if you did I only print the SG90 version because the MG90s have so many problems. Otherwise, the link provided shows it came direct from TowerPro (assuming the seller hasn't changed since you ordered, which happens) so I would assume you are getting...

Got the Servo. Now it's Microdamper testing

I was curious about the brand because I actually use cheap-o SG90s in my kits, but I haven't had a single problem with them yet. Even if you ordered TowerPro servos, you might get fakes - unless you order from a reputable place such as Hobby King. It sounds like, from what I'm reading, that...

Got the Servo. Now it's Microdamper testing

Begg, make a video ... so I don't have to :-P. This has been coming up a lot lately

Got the Servo. Now it's Microdamper testing

You pulse duration values sound about right, you should have a swing of about 860-890 on the numbers (at least that's what I have on mine). Sounds like you might have a crappy servo, may I ask which brand you have? Also, I know you are just setting up so maybe you have your fan max at 30% just...

How many Heatermeter/Raspi built so far

Does a soldering station really make that big of a difference? I seem to be doing just fine with a $9 stick iron, no hassles or problems. And to contribute to the topic of the thread, I think I've assembled somewhere between 10-14 HeaterMeters. I never really tallied it up.

Is using just servo control enough?

I'm not sure I follow your logic. The more you open the bottom vent, the more you should be opening the top vent as well. If you're looking for maximum range without using a fan/blower, rig up your own servo to the exhaust built into your pit. I think you're best off using a damper with a...

Heater Meter project cost and kit parts

    1. Correct, be sure to purchase the thermocouple variation (as assumed from rest of list) at the HeaterMeter Store. If you are going to use a damper system now is the time to decide if you want to buy the blower. The MicroDamper uses an axial fan, other systems use the blower. MD kits...

Heatermeter 4.3, Damper Servo acting weirdly

Certainly a possibility, especially if he's using the MG90 version. But these things act funny if your settings are incorrect, so make sure you figure that out before ripping it out and installing a new one

    Need a little help.....

I don't know and yet again maybe I'm looking at this wrong. But I don't see this as problematic. You mention that if the pit doesn't have the proper momentum at the start that is the only time this is a problem. This doesn't sound like something we should be changing the software over, seems...
