Ralph, you are correct, my point was, the color is not important, pin 1 is pin one reguardless of if it is orange, or pink (i have seen pink, purple, yellow...)

dont pay attention so much to the colors, i make cables all the time and as long as pin to pin are right, color makes no different, hook the cable up to a box and grab pin 3, 4, 5 and wire them to your servo

if you look here, you will see they are supposed to touch.

i had this problem before, and I have been soldering for YEARS... everyone here told me to just reflow it, and i was pfft, I know what i'm doing, there is no way... well, I did it, it worked... give that a shot? make sure all the holes are good an soldered, but not too much, check for solder...

Thanks for posting that, I had a pork yesterday that was sitting at 140 for 3 hours, I was questioning my probes, the weather, everything, I cranked up the smoker to 500 just to see the needle move, it didn't. I wrapped the meat and put it in my convection oven on full blast, it took 30 minutes...

correct, no error, everything works fine, just the lcd is spazing out.

tried that already, that was the first thing i did, i looked for all the goofs and i reflowed solder on the lcd, and both chips, same issue. where should i go now?

no such luck, i have switched from 2 to 4 to every other option, still just junk on the screen.

so the ver 5 will have an option for lcd with the use of an additional board? I never use the 4 way directional, or the lcd, i just plug mine in an go inside and control it via wifi.

Currently running version 4, i had no need to update, this thing works wonderfully, i dont do high heat cooks so I never needed TC's, but... getting a little jealous of all the new gear you guys have. I got 10 4.2 pcb's from Peter over in the Netherlands, I have yet to order parts or populate...
