A bit of Genesis restoration fun

I would (and did) retain the natural SS finish. Well, I polished it a little, but didn't paint it. I'll never have to fix paint chips. I was thinking making the shelves wider side to side. I think it simplifies construction. You just need two longer frame tubes. As far as how wide? How much...

A bit of Genesis restoration fun

If I was starting from scratch, I would remake the frame out of stainless steel. That way it lasts forever. Mild steel with a porcelain coating may rust from the inside out. Aluminum would be interesting, but it does oxidize over time. Then I would modify it to fit the space it will live in...

If anyone in shouting distance is looking

Thanks for giving me the “push” to get it. It’s in mint condition. Tell me about the fire glass you put in yours. I might go that route too instead of the lava rocks. Gerry

If anyone in shouting distance is looking

I think if I got one, I might build some kind of riser to get it 12-18" off the deck. That way you don't cook your feet before the rest of you gets warm. Gerry

    Wireless Sound System for TV

What is the "huge tank of a system"? I might be interested if it's something nice. It might be better than what you can buy now. I have three old Acurus amps driving three pairs of speakers in the garage. They handle the woofers with an iron fist. Nice clear sounds at reasonable listening...

I will just leave this here

We used to have one of those tin grills back in the early '70s. Back then, we had a travel trailer parked in northern Illinois at a trailer park (Timber Lake Park) and we would spend weekends up there. That is where Dad learned about the Weber kettles, because everyone had them, and the tin...

Genesis Hinge Pin Snapped and Stuck

Thing is, with a lid pin, I don't really think it's necessary to center the bit. Close might be good enough. I think a little slop really won't be a problem? Gerry
